This page summarises other quests related to fishing. Separate walkthroughs cover the Northrend Daily, Outland Daily, and Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme quests. Quests are in reverse-level order.
A Bear of an Appetite
- Requires: Level 72.
- Starts/Ends: Hugh Glass, Redwood Trading Post, eastern Grizzly Hills.
- Reward: 5g 90s.
Catch 6 Northern Salmon using a fishing net. The fish are caught from School of Northern Salmon, which are found along the eastern coast of the Grizzly Hills. You must use the net provided - not a fishing pole.

The Way to His Heart
- Requires: Level 69.
- Starts/Ends: Anuniaq, in the Tuskarr village of Kamagua, western Howling Fjord. You must complete the Scalawag Isle quests first.
- Reward: 4g 70s, and 500 Kalu'ak reputation. Once completed, this quest becomes a "daily quest": It can be repeated each day.
Gather at least 5 Tasty Reef Fish, which can be found in School of Tasty Reef Fish. These pools are in deep water off the south side of the Isle of Spears. School of Tasty Reef Fish are not fished with a pole: Use Anuniaq's Net, provided. Some pools will contain a shark - but you can loot Tasty Reef Fish from the corpses of most sharks too.
Now find a Reef Bull on the northern shore of Scalwag Point island. Throwing a Tasty Reef Fish will make the bull waddle about 10 yards towards you. The aim is to get a Reef Bull to cross the water to the Reef Cows on the southern shore of the Isle of Spears. Throw a fish at the bull, change your position, throw another fish. When the bull reaches the cow, they will "make love". It's a beautiful thing!
This is one of 3 daily quests that give Kalu'ak reputation. The others quests do not involve fishing, but will help you gain a Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole.

Rather Be Fishin'
- Requires: Level 62.
- Starts/Ends: Seth, northern side of the Lower City, Shattrath City.
- Reward: Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole (+20 fishing skill, requires 200 fishing skill to use).
Requires 8 Pristine Shimmerscale Eels. These cannot be caught by fishing. Instead they must be recovered from the corpses of Shimmerscale Eels in Silmyr Lake.

Nat's Measuring Tape/Gahz'ranka
- Requires: Level 60. Zul'Gurub requires a 20-man raid at level 60, or a small group at level 70.
- Starts: Battered Tackle Box, Pagle's Point, Zul'Gurub.
- Reward: Ability to buy Mudskunk Lures from Nat Pagle, and so summon Gahz'ranka. Gahz'ranka's corpse may contain a valuable Tome of Polymorph: Turtle.
Gahz'ranka.. is a boss found in Zul'Gurub. Summoning Gahz'ranka requires an angler in the group to complete the quest, Nat's Measuring Tape: Examine the Battered Tackle Box at Pagle's Point in Zul'Gurub. Take the Nat's Measuring Tape to Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh.
You will now be able to buy Mudskunk Lure from Nat Pagle. Use one lure per summoning. Each lure requires 5 Zulian Mudskunk, which are caught from pools in Zul'Gurub called "Muddy Churning Water". Use the loaded Mudskunk Lure at Pagle's Point in Zul'Gurub.

Strange Engine Part
- Requires: Level 55. Repeatable. Alliance only.
- Starts: Strange Engine Part, caught rarely from Steam Pump Flotsam pools in Zangarmarsh.
- Ends: K. Lee Smallfry in Telredor, Zangarmarsh.
- Reward: 2g 20s.
Simply deliver the part to K. Lee Smallfry. The item can be gained by Horde, by only Alliance can complete the quest.

Craftsman's Writs (Argent Dawn)
- Requires: Level 55. Repeatable.
- Starts: Specific Craftsman's Writ (see below).
- Ends: Packmaster Stonebruiser at Light's Hope Chapel, in the Eastern Plaguelands.
- Reward: Choice of Insignia of the Crusade or Insignia of the Dawn. These tokens may then be exchanged for the Argent Dawn's Superior and Epic Armaments.
Gain Argent Dawn Valor Token by delivering Scourgestones (Minions', Invaders' or Corruptors') to the Argent Dawn. Argent Dawn Valor Tokens can then be given to Dispatch Commander Metz (quest They Call Me 'The Rooster') in return for a Craftsman's Writ. There are 24 different writs, only 3 of which require fish. Writs can be traded freely, so may be bought at the auction house. Writs for fish are: 30 Lightning Eel, 30 Plated Armorfish, or 40 Stonescale Eel.
If you have both a Lightning Eel and a Plated Armorfish writ, then you can fish 06:00-12:00 or 18:00-00:00. Both fish appear together in reasonable quantities at these times. If you fish at the optimum time and location, Lightning Eel or Plated Armorfish writs will take about an hour to complete. Stonescale Eel writs take about 90 minutes of fishing:

Snapjaws, Mon!
- Requires: Level 44. Horde only.
- Starts/Ends: Katoom the Angler, on the pier in Revantusk Village, The Hinterlands.
- Reward: Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 (+20 fishing skill, requires 100 fishing skill to use).
Kill 15 Saltwater Snapjaws, which can be found wandering along the coast of the Hinterlands.

Selling Fish
- Requires: Level 16. Alliance only.
- Starts/Ends: Dockmaster Baren in Lakeshire, Redridge Mountains.
- Reward: Murloc Fin Soup, Recipe: Murloc Fin Soup, 5 Fishliver Oil, and 10 silver.
Obtain 10 Spotted Sunfish. These can be caught from any open water in Redridge Mountains, or taken from the corpses of Murlocs in the zone. Fishing is safer, particularly at level 16.

The Family and the Fishing Pole
- Requires: Level 10. Alliance only.
- Starts/Ends: Gubber Blump, on the beach in Auberdine, Darkshore.
- Reward: Blump Family Fishing Pole (+3 fishing skill), plus a Shiny Bauble in the mail shortly after.
Catch 6 Darkshore Grouper from any open water in Darkshore. Darkshore Grouper may be caught without the quest and can be traded - so it is possible for another angler to catch these fish for you.
If you do not yet know how to fish, talk to Gubber again after taking the quest and he will teach you to fish for free (thanks Wyllow). He also sells a basic Fishing Pole. If you have only just learnt to fish, you will catch a lot of junk in Darkshore: Better to travel to Teldrassil or Azuremyst Isle, where the waters are easier, then return when your skill is closer to 75. 75 is the skill required at Darkshore to avoid catching junk.

Gaffer Jacks/Electropellers
- Requires: Level 10. Alliance only. An effective fishing skill of 75 is required to stop catching junk in Darkshore.
- Starts/Ends: Wizbang Cranktoggle, top floor of the Auberdine's inn, Darkshore.
- Reward: 2s 50c for Gaffer Jacks. Electropellers gives 5 silver and 20 Aquadynamic Fish Lens (+50 lures).
Electropellers is available once Gaffer Jacks has been completed. The first quest requires 8 Gaffer Jack, which can be caught from any coastal open water in Darkshore. This quest can be completed at the same time as The Family and the Fishing Pole (above). The second quest requires 12 Electropeller, which can be caught from any inland open water. These "fish" can only be caught with the quests. Catch rates for both fish are relatively poor. Expect to spend about 15 minutes completing each quest.

Kalu'ak Fishing Derby Quests
- Requires: Level 5 (to train fishing). Saturday 14:00.
- Ends: Elder Clearwater, by the Eventide Fountain in Dalaran.
- Reward: Boots of the Bay or Dread Pirate Ring for the winner.
- Guide: Kalu'ak Fishing Derby - When and where the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby takes places, what you have to do to compete, and what rewards you can gain.
Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza Quests
- Requires: Level 5 (to train fishing). Sunday 14:00.
- Ends: Riggle Bassbait and helpers, in Booty Bay, Stranglethorn Vale.
- Reward: Various, including Arcanite Fishing Pole, Hook of the Master Angler, Nat Pagle's Extreme Anglin' Boots, High Test Eternium Fishing Line, and Lucky Fishing Hat.

Red Snapper - Very Tasty!
- Requires: Level 4. Alliance only.
- Starts/Ends: Diktynna, near Ammen Ford in Azuremyst Isle.
- Reward: Fishing Pole and Shiny Bauble.
Obtain 10 Red Snapper. Fishing is not used for this quest. Instead swim over the School of Red Snapper and use the Draenei Fishing Net provided. Alternatively, take Red Snappers from the corpses of nearby Angry Murlocs.

The Ahn'Qiraj War Effort (to open the gates to Ahn'Qiraj) also required cooked fish: Stacks of 20 Rainbow Fin Albacore, Spotted Yellowtail, or Baked Salmon. These quests have not been listed here because the war effort only happens once: The gates to Ahn'Qiraj are already open.
